Looks good but the section descriptions are not readable without highlighting the text.

Also loved it when you did the mauled by the tigers chant at the car ras then went on to lose 😂

Hi @thurgood awesome work!! I have a few of questions if you don't mind to share the answers:

- The Next Match block that you have above the forum list, is it an addon? or just a HTML widget that you manually craft for every upcoming HC match? :o

- The same with the Starting XI block at the sidebar. I see you highlight the Top 11 contributors of your site. Again, is it an addon? How you determine the main 11 members? By points, reply count? And how do you craft the pitch image.

- How did you advertise your forum. In social media (X, IG, etc?) what was your strategy for this? I also own a football fan forum and want to make it grow with stuff and ideas.

Thanks in advance :)

Hey! Thanks mate, appreciate it. Happy to help out.

Just a simple HTML widget I update manually before each game. Takes maybe 2 minutes, I just swap the opponent name, kickoff time and venue. Been thinking about getting an addon to automate it but honestly it's not worth it yet since we only play twice a week max. Manual is fine for now. If you want the HTML template I can send it over, it's pretty straightforward.

Yeah that's a fun one. I manually pick the top 11 contributors each month based on a few things... posts, thread quality, how much engagement they get, stuff like that. It's not just spam posting, I look at who's actually adding value to discussions. The pitch graphic itself is just a basic image I made once, then I just update the names overlay each month. People seem to like it, gives them something to aim for.

Mix of things really. Twitter is probably the biggest one, I'll jump into Hull City conversations, reply to match hashtags, share interesting threads from our forum when it makes sense. Not spammy though, just being part of the community. Bit of Reddit when relevant, some SEO content that ranks on Google (wrote a few Hull history pieces), and then honestly word of mouth does a lot once you get that initial core of 10-20 active people.

Main thing I learned is don't try to compete directly with established forums. Find your angle. For us it was more tactical discussion and transfer analysis since other Hull forums are more general chat. Give people a reason to come to yours specifically.

What's your forum focused on? Always interested to see what other people are building in the football community space.

Cheers
