Wow! That is really nice! Thanks for directing me...this is the addon I need for a newsletter.

It does not integrate with that addon. However, you can put the thread ids you want to feature in the options area and then disable threads to get the same result.
I have asked before purchasing, and you said yes, It can send a list of featured thread. it doesnt.
now I cant even make it work without crashing all my forum. I think I will remove it and ask for refund.

Hello Brent @BamaStangGuy,

I send you an email at 2 days ago but I'm not sure if you see it. I think that find an conceptual problem in the list of topics generated by the newsletter.

If I want to send the list of more popular topics in last week (more replies) without any limitation of time I can't. If i choose 7 days at "Thread Date Cutoff" all topics started before this 7 days, even if they have thousands of replies in last 7 days, are out.
If I extend that 7 days to 365 (one year) and if I have some topics without replies in last week but have lots of replies at 5-6 months ago that topics are in the newsletter list.

Can you add an option to simple choose the most popular topics in last X days? Don´t matter if they are started in last week or at six months ago. If they are the most replied topic in last X days they are in the newsletter list.

Many thanks!

Best,
Vitor

Featured threads are a part of the add-on. At no point have I ever said it integrated with CTA Featured Threads.

As far as it crashing your site, you never responded to my questions about that.

I am working on your problem and there will be more ways to have threads pulled into the newsletter. Sorry for not replying to your initial query on this. In the mean time, you can hand select threads using the Featured Threads option to make sure threads you want can appear in the newsletter. :)

Sorry, but for most XF users : "featured threads" refers usually to this :
https://xenforo.com/community/resources/cta-featured-threads-portal.2599/
Your use of this term is a little confusing for customers, you should avoid it in my opinion
or clarify it doesn't refer to Brogan's featured thread addon.
the problem was posted here:

I fixed it by removing your addon.

It isn't confusing if you would have specifically asked about that add-on. Featured threads isn't a term used solely for that add-on. Furthermore, as stated, the add-on can do exactly what you asked in that screenshot by simply adding the thread ids of threads you want.

I asked you a question regarding your issue you had with the add-on but you provided absolutely no feedback to me so that I could try to help you. I don't know what else you could want me to do for you at this point when it comes to trying to help you.

I think it is clear that I am more than happy to help people and listen to people within this thread and it is is frustrating that you are taking the kind of tone and approach with me that you are. Please let me know how I can help you, instead of taking shots at me. Helpful information so that I can fix this for you.

You asked me what was the problem with your addon ,I provide a link to the issue .I can also provide an admin password if you want to check the server error log or any thing related with your addon.
What should I do more more?

I don't recall any link, just a reference to a database error. If you send me admin username, password and FTP access I can install this for you and troubleshoot any problems that might exist.

All I need is a newsletter that sends out say 100 of the latest threads, so people who don't visit the site will visit and check them out (our users online goes up by 100% when we send out a newsletter on VB!).
It would be great if I could also add a little message, a logo, and select where the threads come from (which forums).
Even more important is the ability of users to unsubscribe by using their profile preferences.

If your addon does this, then I will be buying it shortly (I have just installed a test version on another folder on my server to work on until I can "go live").

It does all that, though 100 threads might be a bit much. You can see what it looks like here https://www.aspiescentral.com/xfnewsletter and here https://www.religiousforums.com/xfnewsletter

You just copy the html on that page into the XenForo email user feature and you are good to go.

Suggestion: The < title > tags in the produced HTMl contains "ZURBemails". Would be better to add a field for it at /admin.php?options/list/xfNewsletter or use the board title or meta description from /admin.php?options/list/basicBoard

Thanks, meant to fix that for awhile and kept forgetting it was there.

BamaStangGuy updated HTML Newsletter Generator with Showcase, Resource Manager & Gallery Support with a new update entry:

Major Rewrite - Use Your Own HTML Template Code!

The first release allowing you to use your own HTML template code is here .

All of the HTML code is now stored within a template that you can edit to match the look and style of the newsletter you would like.

All of the variables are there to view and to add / remove.

To edit the HTML code, you will need to edit the template bamastangguy_xfnewsletter_source.

At a latter date, documentation on variables that are available to you will be provided so that editing will be easier for you....
