XF 1.4 How to move the code button out of the insert menu in the editor

Hello,

we are running a technical forum and our users often paste parts of various code snippets. For this reason it is essential for us to make the code tag button more visible, because it is "hidden" under the insert menu by default. For us, it would be best to move the code tag button out of the insert menu and place it next to our other custom bbcode tag buttons, but it is not clear to me how we could achieve it. I found this thread https://xenforo.com/community/threads/bb_code_edit-make-buttons-not-only-depend-on-a-group.67244/ and it looks like it might be related, but since I am no CSS/JavaScript expert I still don't know how we could do it. Thanks for any help.

Since no one replied, it appears it's not as easy as one would think. My other idea is to create custom "code" bbtag and add a button as with other custom tags. I wonder however, if there is some way to make our "custom" code tag to behave exactly the same way as the built-in code tag?
