XF 1.1 How to merge a post into an existing topic

How can I merge a post into an existing topic? I see the option "move post" but there is no URL for the new topic I want the posted moved to.

Move the post to a new thread. Merge the threads.

I have searched this forum on google, isn't there an existing suggestion to just enter the thread url in the topic>move> popup so that the post auto-merges into the existing thread? I use this a dozen of times each day.

I believe it has been suggested, quite a while ago.

I need to learn how to merge faster. It took me some time to first move my threads to a new thread and then go back to the forum, find these threads and merge them.
