How to measure success?

I run a forum with 125k threads 4.6m posts. I have not noticed any issues with the search. How do I know when Enhanced Search is needed and how can I measure it?

I found the built-in search absolutely appalling for actually finding content. Coming from a different forum, it was a rude awakening.

Installing Enhanced Search and Elastic turned it around, and now search is better than ever.

In my opinion, if you want to have useful search, you need Enhanced Search from day one.
