XF 2.0 How to hide sidebar on mobile?

Is there a way to hide sidebar on mobile devices?
For 1.5 there was an extra.css trick.

@media (max-width: @xf-responsiveWide)

    .p-body-sidebar { display: none; }
}

Should do the trick for you.

Are you required to use less in extra.less or will css standalone work?

Reason I'm asking is I tried using just css and an error was logged because of it. I now see the extra.less is the file for extra css/less however I was wondering why I received an error and if css alone will work?

Yeah I found out earlier in my other post but thanks for the tip off. I've tried a little SASS here and there but never learned LESS.
