XF 2.2 how to get this icon cooler to be white all the time?

trying to get this to stay white all the time -->

can't figure it out and giving up. I know it fades with inactivity, but I already have a activity count flag above it so I don't need it to be faded, I just need it to remain white.

It IS "white all the time" by default. Such as here on this forum.

@Max Taxable I am under the impression they fade, to better ask the question I guess is how to keep it "on" all the time like the mail icon to the left. cheers
