How to find adequate blog/article writers?

I would appreciate if people can recommend or suggest/explain their ways of generating content for their blog/site initially. Are we talking about mainly hiring blog writers (pay per word type thing) or there are more creative and less costly ways of achieving similar results.

As always I appreciate your feedback.

Generally write it yourself, free, cheap, and more personal.

I guess I should have been more specific with my question ... I am already doing this and yes I quite well know the advantages ... however the time dedicated is one of the disadvantages and I am looking for more contributors.

Thanks but no thanks for your feedback :)

I used to buy from some lads over at digitalpoint (a few years ago this is but am sure people are still doing it)

I posted an ads for writer on craigslist and received hundreds of email, majority of them from China/India. "Will write about anything at low rate".
I end up not hiring anyone. I cover a specialized niche and I don't believe someone from India/China will be able to do the work.

Still, I would love to have a few writers on my staff. This is a one million dollar question.

I think it's harder the more specialist your subject is. Have you considered approaching professionals in the trade to write an article? What about - assuming it's for your Audi forum - commercial concerns such as dealers? They write an article and in return get good publicity from it. Once one dealer/tradeperson does this, others will follow (like a stampede).

Oh don't worry about me. Have a hunt around sitepoint.com, from memory there were a few people offering writing services.

Of more immediatly concern what are the guidelines for submission (subject, length, etc)? A few of the folk on here may be interested.

Well any subject related to Audi brand and model line, aftermarket etc. Length is min of 100 words. There are not strict guidelines ... The article/post must be adequately written (perfect grammar ;)) and to have some informational value on certain subject related to Audi. If my current project was the one we are talking about :)

Thanks for your feedback ... (y)

Good luck and I hope you can get some article writers, but I feel the same as others that it's not going to be easy unless your willing to pay for it.
