XF 1.2 How to disable the memberlist

I wish to completely disable the member list. The new version is a bit improvement over the old one but still I don't need it and it takes up valuable space in my navbar.

Do I just take away the members code from the navigation template? Somebody mentioned there is a setting for it in the ACP but didn't mention where that was

The setting in the ACP is just for the full alphabetical member list.

To remove it completely will require template edits.
The navigation bar for one, to remove the tab.
Also, if you don't want people to be able to manually access it then you will need to edit the member_notable template and either comment out the content or delete it.
