How to change a navigation link to an external website?

Hello everyone, I am trying to edit one of my tab node links to be a link to an external website. What I have done is went to Edit Link Forum and added a Link URL. Unfortunately when I clicked on that tab link, it would do this: http://(mypage).com/(Link URL)

Perhaps I am using the wrong kind of node? I assuming now that it shouldnt be a Link Forum as it will just link someone somewhere in my website.​

A link-forum should work fine. You can enter a full URL for the target (must begin with http://).
