XF 1.5 How to cancel/delete user upgrade?

I have a user who did a $5 monthly upgrade, which was working fine. Recently he decided to do a $10 monthly upgrade, and asked me to cancel the $5 one. I thought I could just downgrade the $5 one and it would stop, but it keeps charging that one, in addition to the new $10 upgrade.

I'm sure this is something simple and I am just missing it. I want to make the first upgrade stop, and let the new one continue.

How do I do this?
