How much faster is jQuery 2 than jQuery 1?

I was thinking about serving jquery 2 for compatible browsers and otherwise jquery 1. I would check this on server leven on nginx.

But I wonder: How much faster is jquery 2 anyway?

But you will lose support for IE 6, 7, and 8. If you're not worried about that, you can always try it.
