How long have you been running your community?

First post here but this is as good a place as any to start...

9 years active so far, 1 year of thinking before hand. Started with vBulletin 2.0 in Dec 2001 and currently run 3.8.7. I am here 'cause I am seriously thinking about moving to Xenforo instead of using the VB 4 Suite I have.
Welcome to the community!! :) I hope you give xf a try - it's really quite something else!!

We've got a license and are waiting on a couple of things but we've been spending the time settiing up the new board in preparation for movving our live board over, and the experience so far has been honestly a real pleasure - it'll be worth the wait!!

Another March baby over here. Barely made it to the surface in time (March 31st). Looking at so many others, I'm actually considering now whether there is an association between being born in March and the urge to build and run communities. :D
You have the same birthday as me! :)

Long enough to start hating running forums and everything that comes with the territory. Honestly, sometimes I ask myself if I am wasting my life by being online in general. And then she comes!! By she I mean that bright light at the other end of my galaxy telling me not to give up just yet. I am hooked like a drug addict. A weakling of sorts. :(

I hear ya' man! :)

I've been running my porn community for 30 years now. I have seen the hot amateurs become old leather skin hags. Quite disgusting really.
Such a bad visual right there. I didn't drink my coffee yet and now I am picturing...well I don't know how to describe it. Either way after 30 years I would say you know the ole in and outs around the business...of things internet that is. :-)

We first went online with an actual forum in 1997 (WebBBS), but I had a CGI-based guestbook that predated the forum by a year or more, back when I was using my ISP's free web hosting space. I still have those files somewhere in fact. This forum was the one I just converted to XF last week, in fact.

The "big board" I'm the admin for started in '02, but I only joined the forum in '03 and took over as admin in '04 or '05 IIRC when the original admin wanted to leave.
