How do you work on the templates?

I do a lot of template-edits and it gets more and more frustrating how slow it works. Especially when there are a lot of templates open in the editor, it takes a minute or more to save an edit. Even when it's only a minor edit in one template.

How do you do this? Is there a way to speed this up?

- it doesn't help to use webdav. It's just as slow.
- or should I build an offline testsuite?

And why does the ajax take so long to save the templates? Or is it something in my setup?

I use Notepad++ and work on localhost.

How many styles do you have installed? Typically the more styles you have the longer saving templates will take. Also you can work off localhost as it helps quite a bit with a little bit of tweaking.

Okay, localhost... And how do you do that, then? On windows? Or a network with an external Linux-server.

And what should i tweak?

Too many styles and languages.
