How do I unwatch old threads in the HYS forum?

I want to keep alerts for new threads in HYS, but I want to opt out of alerts for old threads. How can I do this?

Go here and remove the threads you no longer want to watch: http://xenforo.com/community/watched/threads/all

Then watch the forum for new threads.

Go to the HYS forum, unwatch the forum. Click "Watch Forum" and select "New Threads" I'm guessing right now you selected "New Messages".

That function does not list threads in watched forums.

No, because he's not watching the threads specifically. He was watching the forum for new messages when he wanted to be watching it for new threads.

Yes, though I had no clue that it was a matter of unwatching forums instead of unwatching threads. Isn't everyone subscribed to the announcement forum and HYS forum?

The only thing set by default is "Watch threads when creating or replying" is set to "Yes, with email" when registering.
