XF 2.1 How do I set prefixes on a group of forums

How did you do it? It's actually a good question. I can't find any thing that allows it by group.

Don't think they were referring to setting allowable prefixes based upon group membership, but a group of nodes.
And that is done in either the node setup page or via the Prefix page itself where you can assign what nodes (and even what user groups) can use that prefix.

Ah I see,
There isn't a way to make it where users are given a certain thread prefix by default right?

Been looking for a way to do that based on what secondary user group the user is in.

That would probably have to be an add-on. I've never seen a way to assign prefixes based on group when I have been messing with prefixes.
