XF 2.3 How do I get rectangular avatars and adjust the size?

Don't see this already asked. Don't want round avatars and know it can be done because I've seen it in other XF 2 forums. I want 190x400 size avatars.

Not sure about your attachment but, look under style properties, Avatar group and border radius.
Or, search Avatar border radius.

Reducing to zero creates a square avatar, but my imported vBulletin avatars appear to have been cropped and reduced in image size. How do I set the minimum and maximum width/height of avatars? I suppose I will have to rename the old avatars somehow to match the new filename convention? The import is full of concessions and frustrations. I had a very polished and detailed forum previously, now most of the features have been lost and there are all sorts of technical and aesthetic issues that will either require tons of hours I no longer have the ability to invest or are simply not possible.
