XF 1.3 How do I display first posts of threads on a page/node

I have a section where we can post news. Of these topics I want to know if there is a way to display the first posts of them entirely? So instead of a list of threads, I see a list of first posts wit the option to read the thread for reactions and such.

With this function I can use that section like a newsblog of the forums. Is this possible? I found this as a possible solution http://xenforo.com/community/threads/how-to-show-a-post-in-a-page.28160/ but it's only for one post and there are some troubles with video and images.

Any suggestions how to handle this without 3th party addons?

It will require custom development.

If you don't want to use a third party add-on then you will need to write one yourself.

I thought so, but hoped there would be something possible with pages or something I think I'm stuck to use something like xenporta?
