Ya, I don't know how to do that and I'll be honest this is why I have a total contempt for xenforo software. I used to have Vbulletein. And the spam control was simple, easy and at my fingertips. With Xenforo not so much. It's a running joke. I came to my forum after a month because life is busy and it was over run by spammers. And get this. There was no easy way to ban the accounts and remove their posts enmass. It would not allow it. So I had to ban each person, then go forum to forum removing each post individually. And some spammers had hundreds and hundreds of posts.
It is almost like Xenforo created these forums for the sole purpose of being spammer friendly forums. There used to be a function where I would do a mouseover their name, pull up a dialogue box, and then there would be a choice to choose spam and it would then bring up a dialogue box that would allow me to ban them, remove all their messages, dialogues, everything. But even that was lacking, as it would not also allow me to ban their IP addresses. I'm sorry but I paid a ton of money for these forums software and their spam control is non existent. It favors the spammer. Now that function has disappeared. It takes me hours and hours of frustrating work to remove what would have taken me 10 minutes to do in Vbulletin. It is insufferable.

Ya, I get it. These forums are for developers who know how to do things server side. The people who developed them don't care about user experience. All they care about is making what will be in my case, a one time sale. Buying this software is the biggest mistake I could have ever made. They love spam and spammers and hate the people who purchase their software. If I only knew this back then...

Thanks. I don't know how to do any of that and don't have the time to learn it. I am just going to shop around for other forum software because I got totally burned with this purchase. To think that those who created this software leave us with no control over spam is beyond me and infuriating. This is an inferior product without simple spam control. Any suggestions for other forums software?

If you are being overrun with spam you have things configured wrong. I am admin on two big boards with no addons that get 1-2 spam accounts a day. Use the built in turnstile from cloudflare. Set up some registration questions. Play with the spam settings.
Take some responsibility for the management of your community ffs.
