How do I change message editor background colour?

I'm trying to apply a colour to the background of the message editor. Currently it is displaying the background image I've set in:

    general > body > background

All I want it to do is have the same colour of the general > content > background, or be able to set it manually in the css itself. I've tried to change the settings in: editor_contents.css but it doesn't seem to take. Is there somewhere else I can set the background colour of the text editor?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thanks Brogan, adding that last line to the editor.css did the trick. I now have text instead of a logo and a nice gray theme, check it out here if you want
