How can I moderate a thread post or reply by user group?

New user post approved by me.

Click the User group permissions link located under the Groups&permissions tab in your Admin panel, select the group whose users posts you want to moderate and set to No the permission called Submit content without approval. Hope it helps.

Note that you have to do this for the usergroup Registered which is everyone’s primary group by default. Then create a promotion with 1 post criteria, that promotes to a secondary group that has the submit content without approval permission set to Yes.
