XF 2.3 How can I clean the forum?

After the update Xenforo 2.3.0, there were 3 times more files, what is the reason for this?
Can someone tell me what can be removed from the forum, for example, duplicate photos or how to delete installation files?

Thats normal. I have a fresh install on local host that has almost 14,000 files in it. No threads have been created but do have the resource manager installed.

Font Awesome improvements​

On almost every page we serve currently, we include as many as five different variants of the Font Awesome 5 Pro icon library. That's up to 8,000 icons split across their different variations, but on any given page we actually use... a lot less than that. The file size of each of these fonts is up to 200KB with an additional 40KB worth of CSS.

We have always wanted to ship a much smaller subset of icons but when admins, style designers and add-on developers have the full suite of icons available to them, this can be a challenge. In particular, working with...

This will be the result of the icons being included with the hashes (their exclusion was actually what caused the upgrader not to write them out properly in beta 1).

this file count is from my understanding the file count of xenforo and addon files as provided by the core software and addons. it does not include your attachment file count.

It's probably time to write an addon that would show all the files not used by the forum engine. Or am I wrong?
The forum is constantly updated, there are probably elements from past builds that belong in the trash.
It’s also not clear with photographs, now they are being transformed into a new format, but where does the old one go? How many versions of photographs are there now on the forum?

Today we are releasing XenForo 2.3.0 Release Candidate 5. While the majority of this release is focusing on bug fixes and stability, there are a few noteworthy changes.

Automatic legacy file clean up​

XenForo installations after upgrading to XenForo 2.3 will have a number of files sitting in the file system which are no longer used. Any XenForo installation that has been around for a while, will to a lesser extent, have a similar issue. These files on their own shouldn't present any issue, but at the same time, keeping them around doesn't make much sense either.

this is not going to be perfect but is a good starting point.

images converted to webp are converted. originals are no longer kept. so you only end up with optimized version of the files.
