XF 1.2 homepage different from forums

Hi, our forum is private so we need first home page that anyone can see with a welcome message ( a small paragraph about the forum and how to signin) and the right columns as it shows in the forums page with the login. Anyone that can tell me how to setup this?

Probably use a page node.

If you want it to be a tab then use this addon:

And edit this setting to make it the index:

Admin CP -> Home -> Options -> Basic Board Information -> Index Page Route

would you happen to know of any guides on how to pull the rss feeds per forum into these pages? This would be great to build my own home page

You can use the Google RSS API.
I use it for my site with external RSS feeds.

do you have the HTML code for that? It could be nice to have different homepage templates with the HTML code somewhere in the help or the forum resources.
