This is my original site http://www.wickedstangs.com
going to try and move everything to http://www.wickedstangs.net (New Server)

Need to Import it and How to?
Can someone lead me in the right directions please.

    Things, I like to have:
    • Top Banner across the top
    • Events Calendar with RSVP
    • Photo Gallery
    • Chatbox
    • Portal
    • Advertisement locations (Must Have)
    • Shopping Cart for a couple of items
Here are some ideas and site that helped with my plunge:) thanks..

Reasons for the move. I was checking out all the Xenforo forums and love the look of it.. But, most importantly is speed.

    Thanks Everyone

    Welcome aboard :)

For the top banner and advertisement locations, see XenAMS. For a chatbox, try TaigaChat.

Why change domain extensions? I say stick with the .com first and foremost.

thanks everyone.. One thing.. I just installed it and no where does it say to remove the install script? Do I remove the complete Install Folder or just the install/index.php ????

I like to keep both and was going to set it all up and just point .com to the .net. I really like to just keep the .com but, really up to speed with the know hows:)

You don't have to remove anything after installation.

An install lock file is created after installation to prevent inadvertent re-installs...so nothing needs removing :)

Dude don't remove anything, you'll start to see some advantages to that the first time when you upgrade and your board automatically shuts/opens for you :)

    Welcome to xenForo.

Thanks everyone for your help and leading me in the right direction. I been playing around with it all day and it seems to be working just great.. I did everything you all told me to do and it was very simple to do. Even for a beginner like me.. Still lots to learn but, I am glad I did the move.

    Oh hear is my site

Another question I just did the importer, lets say I finish the look of the site in a week or so, can I use the importer again before launching the new site?

You can export your modified style (plus save off any files it requires), then re-import/copy over when your migration is done.

Yeah, do NOT import more than once! I learned the hard way. If you import more than once it will bring in posts/forums/etc. over and over. Your post counts will be WAY off!
