XF 1.5 Hide User Group Members (from everywhere)

I am trying to figure out if and how it is possible to "hide" users of a specific user group from other user groups. So that they do not appear anywhere. Neither in search nor in the members list. Is there a conditional or function that can be used that excludes certain user groups from listings?

In my thinking if there is a conditional that forces this result on a user that is member of a certain user group, would this be possible on a template edit basis?

That would only prevent people from viewing the profile itself -- the users would still appear everywhere else.

(Changing the conditions for that would also require custom development.)
