I wish to Hide Node, not Restricted, but still allow certain usergroup to have it visible from the front end.

The "Display in the node list" seems to hide it from all usergroup no matter what.

The options are to hide it from the node list or use node permissions to restrict access to certain user groups.

    What I want to achieve:
    1. Everyone gets to access the node if they know the url (no restriction)
    2. Hide the node. Only allow certain usergroup to see the node. The rest would need url to access.

What @Brogan said. You can chose node to not appear in the node list, but people can still get to it if they know the URL.

Why would you want the node to be available to all user groups but only some can see it?
It doesn't really make much sense.

One way to do it would be to hide the node in the node list and have a link forum which is visible to the selected user groups.

Thanks! That would do the job. I know it doesn't really make much sense, but it is for some specific purposes.
