Hey Kier, Mike, Chris, you have users to moderate!

Sounds good. 30 minutes at 1.1M posts that is.... 10 min at 300k posts and like few seconds on my most recent installation (sadly, <1k posts) - WOW.

Seems like the utf8mb4 conversion was also done so that must've added some time on too.

So the database structure has not changed much, I assume?

Oh I forgot, the overhead from templates and phrases, guess this took a minute too (not depending on the community's size)?

Most of the fundamental structure remains, but there are new tables and various alterations to make, along with a bit of data manipulation.

And FWIW, the entire upgrade took less than 30 minutes :)
We have over 16 million posts, nearly 600,000 threads, and almost 70,000 members to upgrade when the time comes. The upgrade process with XF 1.x is so much faster now than it used to be with a certain other forum system we used to use. I have a feeling it will take me a lot longer to back up the database than it will to actually do the upgrade to XF 2.0.
