Help: Spammers, Bots

Since the past few days, nonstop 24hrs... Spammers are joining, I doubt their Human.

They join and make spam threads containing a load of rubbish and external links...

Why have they suddenly started, since the site being up a year without any probs like this.

Blocking proxy addresses, will it fix the problem? But blocking proxy addresses may effect genuine new users from joining and current users who use proxies.

Solutions plz?

Wow, my forum also i think started getting Spammed on saturday and the threads are often foreign in Russian hmm...

Basically a piece of software has been updated which previously only supported "the other forums". It now supports XenForo and reCAPTCHA just isn't working.
