Help Each Other?

I have been reading a lot of threads the past few days and there were quite a few threads on "getting members". A lot of people suggested making "fake" members to get started. The problem with this is that you have to remember whose who.

So here is a thought...what if we all helped each other out and signed up for each others forums and help boost our numbers. Especially those who are new (me). I know content is everything, but we have to start somewhere. I would rather have members who are other forum holders then no one ...

you are far better targeting possible members in your forum niche. whats the point of someone joining my site just for the sake of it and never be seen again. i could create accounts myself.

as for forums who use fake members or addons to increase member count...blah. these forums will always struggle.
