XF 2.2 Google Says Couldn't fetch My XML Sitemaps

i have a total of 168 site maps records amounting to 8.2 Million.

I see that all my sitemaps has content.

However Google says couldn't fetch data.

Out of 161 sitemap.xml . I see that google has fetched only 3 files.

rest all the file status says Couldn't fetch.

Can any pros help me here

Also Google has discovered 1,71,000 urls but it says " Discovered currently not indexed " .

Same here. I think what that means is that it saw your pages but deemed them too low content to index.

According to Google, it actually means that it is 'processing the request'. Great use of wording they used instead of what they actually mean. I know because I am in the same boat as the rest of you, over two months and still can't get Google to process my sitemap.

I don't think it's a misstatement. There's definitely a problem.

For example, my sitemap.php file contains 20 sitemap.xml files. The filename format is "sitemap-n.xml" as standard. where n points to the file number.

If n is a single digit number, google reads it and processes it successfully. I mean:
Google can read and process 9 files between sitemap-1.xml and sitemap-9.xml.

But if n is a 2 digit number it gives a couldn't fetch error. Well :
Files in sitemap-xx.xml format give an error. This is a point that I think should be emphasized.

Do you have the same situation?

Another point is that for years, google could successfully read and process these files. I'm not so sure but since august'22 I started getting this error. In the pending state, the last read date of the file would be written as before. It just writes an error.

Also, has the google search console team made a statement on this? I could not see.
