Good Australian VPS

Hey guys,

Was not sure which forum to post this in. Right now I have a dedicated server hosted in the USA. However, I am looking to cut down costs and bring the website to Australia so the users have a better time surfing the site.

I would be looking at spending $75 - $125 per month for hosting. ISP should have good support and great uptime. It should also be really fast. I have looked on whirlpool but there is no isp that really stands out as "THE" best isp in Australia.

Any Aussies out there know where I can find a great host?

Thanks.

I use http://zuver.net.au for my hosting. For my needs, they offer great shared hosting. They offer VPS hosting as well - http://zuver.net.au/vps

Zuver are owned by Ventraip, and they also are an Australian host offering VPS hosting. https://ventraip.com.au/vps/

I believe @tajhay has most likely used the VPS hosting from Ventraip, so he could probably tell you his experience with them in terms of that section.

For me, Zuver offer great customer support. It just works for me. I don't personally use VPS hosting but I'd definitely recommend them.

Hi @Dynamic,
I currently use VPSCity.co.nz. They have been nothing but phenomenal for us, and the ping times have been great. The Servers are in Auckland, NZ and well maintained. Support is nothing short of top notch, and able to get back to me within a few minutes day or night.

I have tried Ventraip VPS, Panthur shared, XFHost shared(Stay well clear) and a couple of others, and nothing as good as VPSCity.

Best wishes mate.

That has shaping to 20Mbps network speed. I was looking more towards 100Mbps. They also sold out of their VPS :(

Ah, okay. Might be good to go with vpscity if that suits your needs. :)

Good luck. (y)

Thanks man. I have been looking all over the internet for reviews on these guys and I can't seem to find anything. I spoke with the sales guy and he was very helpful so it seems pretty good. Not sure if I want a dedicated server now though lol. All their plans are so well priced...

Are there any other Australian hosts who have a good reputation?

Thanks.

How did you go - end up with shared or vps and who with?

My sites are hosted in the US but I'd like to try a vps or good shared hosting that is located in Australia (or NZ) for a new site I'm working on. Any recommendations for a host are welcome :)

for a new site, you should goto the budget subsidiary of ventraip, zuver. Its dirt cheap. Use VPS once your forum has outgrown the shared hosting. VPS for a new forum starting out is overkill.
