How do I setup this variable in the config file?

• $config['globalSalt'] = '[%GLOBAL_SALT%]';

Specifically what do I put here: [%GLOBAL_SALT%] ?

It already has a default value that is unique to each license. It does not ordinarily need to be adjusted.

Multisite addon requires you to have it in your config. That is why I was asking.

Cross-Site Login:
Enable login/logout synchronization between domains. Requires PHP OpenSSL extension, and secure global salt to be defined in config.php

Well you should ask the author for clarification, then. Each set of XF files per license already has a global salt value set. It doesn't need to be defined. If they say it does for their add-on then they can explain why that is and give guidance on what values may be considered "secure".
