XF 1.5 Global RSS feed output shows first post to thread, rather than new post?

Each time someone makes a new post to an existing thread, the RSS output feed gets updated. But, the post content excerpt always shows the initial post to the thread, rather than the new content. Is this the way it's supposed to work? Is there any way to show the most recent new content on the RSS output? Or, would this require coding?

That's how it works - the feed is updated with the new thread but the original post is used for the entry.
