Which template file do i put the code to give my forum a favicon, which file houses the header html contents?

You can just upload your favicon with a filename of favicon.ico

Without the corresponding code it won't do anything though?

    It should do, regardless.

What folder? I always thought that was the point of favicon html code, didn't think browsers auto picked them up?

You don't need any code in any template. Simply upload your favicon.ico to your forum root, overwriting the current favicon.ico.

Or if you have a homepage, like the portal here, then upload it to your site root.

It takes time. Could be a cache thing.

It can (but often does not) take up to 24 hours.

Just clear your cache, close browser, then clear DNS Cache by going into command prompt, and entering ipconfig /flushdns

works for everything :). lol just about.

Once a favicon is installed in the root it will show on all pages.

Please help. I downloaded favicon.ico more than a day ago. It appears on all pages of the site except forum. What have I done wrong? Maybe there are some restrictions on the file format?

The favicon is showing for me on both links.

    Clear your browser cache.
