XF 2.1 Get Client IP

Hi Everyone.

I'm trying to get the IP address of the website user in one of my addons.

In regular PHP sites you can do this:
$ip = $_SESSION['REMOTE_ADDR'];

I'm wondering what the xenforo 2 equivalent is. If anyone can help that would be much appreciated.
