GDPR user request regarding private converstation

I've got a user that reported a private conversation.
In this conversation, he shared some private details with someone else.
Now he is requesting to remove this private information.
But we can't (and don't want) to access private conversations.

How should we deal with this?

Give the user an unlimited editing time window for conversation posts - and they can go back and edit/remove the info?

I didn't want to give all users unlimited edit rights because they could abuse that.
But giving a single user this right, on request, seems a good solution. Thanks!

And you only have to give it to them until they have done the edit.
