[ForumApps] Native Mobile Apps for XenForo [Deleted]

Hi @Aayush - we have an open ticket with you. Please could you get in touch about how we proceed with configuring the app on the forum? We have errors on the server and you said it had been configured but in the forum admin the fields are all still empty - we need to know what is going on please.

We detected and fixed your issue and will be available in the next API update.

Glad you're still alive. Which issue is that, from 6 months ago where Google OAUTH stops working because of your API, or the one with the apostrophe not being escaped in push notifications?

Also what's happened to promised search support, promised new redesigned app UX given that it's pretty wonky.... Those were from many months ago. I'm getting the strong impression from your silence that this addon isn't being developed at all as nothing has changed for 8 months other than lots of promises.

I am of the idea that @XenForo should, in the interests of its users, begin to consider the idea of creating a kind of jurisprudence that regulates the behavior of the many add-on developers that populate this place.
More and more frequently we are witnessing the phenomenon - which has already brought to ruin the vBulletin, so to speak - of scammers, time wasters who by vampirating the enthusiasm of the many who want to invest in the web, sterilize many creative energies.

I don't think Aayush is a scammer (at least from personal experience) but he's evidently either moved onto something else, lost his developer(s) or is purely running this in maintenance mode (or a combination of these). Either way communication would go a long way to help us customers either stick with this or migrate away in a civil manner. I don't like airing someone's dirty laundry but I feel I need to force the issue so decisions can be made.

@ichpen surely, @Aayush is not a scammer, I've never said that, my speech wasn't referring to him specifically.
But if what you wrote is true (I have no evidence to confirm it or to deny it), surely his behavior was not the best.
For this reason we need a jurisprudence inside XenForo, just to make sure that the various freelance developers and even the clients, comply with universal rules that serve to protect the interests of both in a framework of legality that would only the good of XenForo.
Otherwise the result will always be that we will never know who is a reliable coder and who is not.
You can not always rely on feedback.
In my city, Naples, there is a proverb that says "Create yourself a good name and then you can sell acetate wine", which, translated, means that who has a good reputation, then tends to abuse it and starts to behave badly.

@Aayush it would be helpful if you could look into our ticket (215413) as well, where we have some small issues and improvements that would help usability amongst our members immensely. Communication is indeed a bit on the slow side now, where it was just fine when we were in the purchasing phase of the project ;-)

Thanks for your reply.

What a shame... I was going to give this a try, but it seems the developer is MIA, and that it's probably not an app that will be around much longer.

Too bad, I really would have liked a native app. Tapatalk is pure garbage.

I don't think we'll ever see a sustainable app before the API is ready and offers oauth support.

It requires too much maintenance without proper API support.

Once the API is ready and oauth added, the outlook will improve.

I've seen too many fail to give anything else a try.

Makes perfect sense. Is there any word when the API will be ready and have oauth added? I haven't been following that discussion.

@PumpinIron We haven't failed and we are continuing to work on it but as you guys pointed out, it's too much to maintain and we aren't even able to cover costs. Pushing out updates to everyone is a very painful and time consuming process. So I'll be posting an update on https://forumapps.net/community/ with the updated fair pricing. Existing customers will have grandfathered pricing as promised since the start.

BTW, all the tickets mentioned above had been resolved except I believe @ichpen and a few other people who have feature requests . Our priority is to onboard and take new ForumApps partners live and start getting feedback from their community and that takes a lot of time on our end.

PS: Also going to start marketing directly to forum owners as well, which "might" mean that this thread wouldn't be present on Xenforo.com for long(Depends on the outlook of the moderators here). So you would need to follow us on: https://forumapps.net/community/
Also, for people claiming that Xenforo.com might sell us the list of its customers, they haven't sold any details of their members. I believe that this would be unethical and it never has been discussed either.

Not quite.

Your API breaks XF 2 google oauth, ticket logged and acknowledged in May 2018.

Special characters in thread titles such as '&' are not escaped correctly in notifications, reported back in October I believe.

The improvements I requested back in 2017 due to UX being very confusing to members particularly when replying to threads. This is feedback you should've taken to the bank. You showed me something in Aug (replica of another app) that you said should be ready in 2-4 weeks.

I won't mention search support that you've talked about for 6 months as a priority yet I've yet to see it.

Conversation notifications no longer click to convo page. A number of notification types are no longer working consistently and clicking into the correct context on android 8.1. I've not reported this as you stopped responding to my emails.

No updates or improvements for how long?

Buddy you need a roadmap and some help. Simply saying you'll focus on taking on more customers is an insult to those that have stuck with you since the first beta. Please address.
