Forum Type Question

Hi,

I am working on a new project and we are thinking on integrating a xenForo forum into the mix.

What we would like to know is it possible to set up a forum where a user can start a thread but the only people who can reply are the user themselves and staff members.

And would it be possible to restrict the viewing of threads in a forum to just the topic author and staff members?

There are permissions that can be applied either globally or to the node level would allow you to set that up. Notably there is a permission "View threads by others" that can restrict the viewing of threads to only the author which also takes care of replying (you can only reply to threads you can view).

Staff members can override these permissions so they can see and reply to anything.
