XF 1.5 Forum emails notifications even after opting out.

I've checked throughout the ACP and cannot seem to locate a setting that would be causing this. Any ideas?

You will need to unwatch any threads you are already watching - that setting applies to threads from that point on.

Follow-up question: is there a way in the ACP to set the board emailing users off by default? It's proving to be rather annoying to most of them.

It's in the registration options for new members.

For existing members, they will have to change their preferences and unwatch any threads they are already watching,
