Formatting options not appearing as they should above the message box

Would anyone know how to fix something like this? At the top of the subforum's list of threads is a rectangular box that says "thread title" in it, beside a box that says "no prefix." Whenever I click on it to type, the formatting options appear, not horizontally above the message box as they should, but in a vertical direction like this:



How do I fix this?

Is there some kind of template that needs to be adjusted or something? Where in the ACP would I find this?

Are you using an older style for the forum? Does this happen with the default theme?

No, it's the latest version. This also happens with the default theme.

is this a brand new forum your imported or setup?

Is that on Mobile also?

Well, it is a new forum. I just noticed it today.

Edit: I haven't used it on mobile, but I suppose this bug would show up there.

I guess, but what I'm showing you is the actual forum as it appears on desktop.

I am thinking its your javascript may need to be reuploaded to the server.

I would start off with reuploading the xf folder via FTP.

It only affects the rectangular thread title box at the top of each subforum, nowhere else.

Ok, so I re-upload the xf folder to the root directory using FTP?

I just want to make sure I have the right one. So the xf folder would contain nothing but .js files, right?

You are correct its nothing related to files or anything like that of the forum its only .js files.

reupload the js folder to the root, you can delete the xf folder from root.

Oh shoot, the xf has just been re-uploaded to the root.

its fine, it will not harm anything but you can remove it and reupload the entire js folder to the root. If you are using an ftp client it will ask you to overwrite the files.

There's no single js folder, just js files and a core folder.

You should see that folder in the root.

Yes, the folder is in the root, but there's no js folder in the xf on my desktop, just js files.
