My forum has always been self hosted and I'm getting exhausted over the last 25 years dealing with all the crap and time that goes along with managing it, I need to focus on other aspects of my business. Exploring the possibility moving to xenforo cloud at some point but would also like to have a dedicated home page and wondering what others are doing. I currently have a static home page but am considering wordpress for the home page as google seems to love wordpress sites, plus it has a shopify plugin that would work well with my shopify store.

For those of you on xenforo cloud, do you have a dedicated home page that runs on other software, what is your setup?

Reading the post about dpreview.com got me thinking about all of this.

Thanks guys

if your forum is on a subdomain, this is easy.. point forums.yoursite.com to the cloud dns, and keep yoursite.com pointing wherever else (perhaps wordpress.com cloud?) and shop.yourdomain.com to a shopify resource area.

if it's not on a subdomain, its a bit more tricky and has some caveats and gives/trades.

If you just don't want to self-host/manage your site anymore, there are other solutions besides cloud hosting for more robust sites. There's folks like @MattW and others who can host and maintain your site for you as well. put a feeler out in the custom requests rea.

I do have a shopify store at shop.mysite.com with the forums at mysite.com/forums and a generic home page at mysite.com
