XF 1.4 Favicon extended option

Hi!

I generate my favicon through this site: http://realfavicongenerator.net

After generating I get this:

How necessary is this anyway? Does it makw any effect at all?

Different things can use different sizes and such, the msapplication-TileImage for example gets used by win 8 & newer for pinned sites on the start screen which requires a 144px square png.

Do you need them all...no.

So you think it's enough to replace the XF favicon? With size?

You can literally just upload and replace the default xf favicon.ico file (or whatever your theme has for a favicon by default) with the same named file your generator made for you. There is no need to do anything else unless you are specifically catering to specific devices/platforms.
