XF 2.1 Error while trying to post emoji

Since 2.1 I'm having issues when posting emojis via the drop down (editor). Manually typing them is not causing an issue.
A browser window alerts the users telling them: "Oops! We ran into some problems."

Any help is appreciated.

Check permissions on your directories.

As far as I can see, the permissions are OK.

It's related to mod security - something your host should know about and will have to resolve by whitelisting the offending rule.

I've disable mod security and the issue is gone.
I don't want to have mod security disable, so I'll contact my hosting company. @ozzy47 could please you give more details regarding the offending rule? I just want to share with them as much info I can get.

I have no information on which rule it is, but your host will be able to identify which one.
