Error when editing message

Strange new problem. An admin (with full permission to do so) is trying to edit their own message. Edit is enabled, they can go in and start the edit process, but when they hit "save", they get a generic "Oops, we ran into some problems!" error message.

Running latest 2.2.7, seeing no server log errors...

I just replicated this, and even as the superadmin with all permissions, I can't edit that post. Seems to let me start, but "Save" generates the error.
If i go edit other posts, i can do so... but not that one post.

Any ideas?

What are the errors in the browser console?

Could me ModSecurity. Ask your host to whitelist the error, send them the timestamp and they can find it/verify if it is indeed MS.

Thank you for helping. I hope you'll bear with me as I'm not super technical.
If you mean for me to open the console on my web browser (client side), then I see this: (Vivaldi browser on Mac)


If that was laughable, and you meant some other console in the xenforo UI, can you let me know what to open up?

Whoops... wrong browser tab. Here is the console when the error is freshly generated:

Looks like a 403 error, so it might be mod_sec as beerforo said, Contact your host and they can whitelist the offending error.
