XF 1.5 Chrome gives XSS error when editing a post

The general recommendation would be to upgrade to a more recent version of 1.5 -- this was fixed in a release from June 2017.

You don't have to, you can upgrade to a newer version of XenForo 1 instead (ideally the latest, 1.5.22).
