While Previewing RSS feed importer. These are old feeds coming from 1.5.x

There's an error on that site, if you go to that RSS feed in a browser, it returns an error.

XF 1.5 or 2.1 does not have anything to do with it, the site that is providing the feed has a error.

It looks like XFMG 2.0 doesn't actually include support for RSS feeds. Whether that's intentional or an oversight, I've no idea.

For that matter, if I click on the RSS feed icon at the home of xF.com forums... I get this result... infact, this happening at every xF forum page...

On the topic of XFMG, it is correct that we don't have any RSS feeds there anymore.

On the topic of Firefox, that seems to be a change of behaviour on their side. They used to have a built-in RSS reader but it has since been removed. You would need a browser add-on to replace the functionality.

On the topic of XFMG, it is correct that we don't have any RSS feeds there anymore.

That's a shame, RSS feeds from the media gallery can be useful as you can plug that into a system like https://dlvrit.com/ to automate the posting of media content from your forum to sites like twitter with accompanying hashtags. This creates a setup and forget advertising tool where users on other social media sites have a chance to discover your content and then visit your forum.

Woohooo! This issue seems to have been resolved in xF 2.1.3.
Now, I am able to import media items into my own forum's threads!
