Enable compression on xenForo elements

I am getting the following "optimization" suggestions from Google PageSpeed insights:

Enable compression for the following resources to reduce their transfer size by 171.7KiB (67% reduction).

• Compressing http://www.bonsainut.com/js/xenforo/xenforo.js?_v=7d260864 could save 110.2KiB (68% reduction).
• Compressing http://www.bonsainut.com/js/jquery/jquery-1.11.0.min.js could save 61.5KiB (65% reduction).

Is this something I would want to consider doing? If so, how would I go about doing this?

This is a webserver thing to compress javascript files as they are sent.

For nginx a stanza such as:

gzip_types text/plain text/css application/json application/x-javascript text/xml application/xml application/xml+rss text/javascript application/javascript text/x-js "text/javascript; charset=UTF-8" "text/html; charset=UTF-8";

Should catch the relevant mime-types that can be compressed from an XF install.

Thank you! Just had to run EasyApache to compile in mod_deflate. It's working like a charm! Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
