RM 1.1 Embedding images does not work

When I try to embed an image using the insert/edit image button and a URL, it results in a 'broken image' - an icon showing a broken image, in Resource Manager. ???

The URL of the embedded image is this: http://www.amazon.com/Chronic-Fatig...6413&sr=1-1&keywords=chronic+fatigue+syndrome

That is not a valid image URL.
