Browser issue  Embedded content doesn't display in Google Chrome

Got 10 or so users using Google Chrome on different computers saying that embedded content (images, videos) doesn't display for them. It's sometimes, but not always, resolved by refreshing. Doesn't appear to be happening in any other browser.

Have them try this:

Options > Under the hood > uncheck "Use DNS Pre-fetching..."

That's on by default in Chrome and it causes all kinds of problems.

Got a few guys to do that, and after a few hours of testing, it hasn't resolved the issue for them. :(

Can you post some links of where the problem occurs, or PM them to me if you don't want to post them publicly.
Is it when logged in, logged out or both?
Do any of them have other browsers installed and can check with those so we can narrow the problem down?

It is literally any post on the forum with embedded content.

Here's a selection of such threads:

I'll find out.

Videos work fine for me with Google Chrome (7.0.517.44) on Windows 7 , tell them to check for browser updates ...

I have noticed this a couple times, though I think it is a Chrome bug (as combined with their changes that break wmode). Unfortunately, as this is stuff being handed off to the internals of the browser, there's not a lot we can really do.
