I often have two or three copies of a forum open featuring the same thread, but their editing areas are not independent (as they should be). In particular, if I edit something in the first window, then look something up in the second (which happens frequently in long threads) then go back and send a reply, the text (or sometimes only an incomplete version of it) remains in the editing box of the second window. And when I notice it and delete it there explicitly, and switch back to the first window, it sometimes reappeared there. To be sure that no haunting ghosts of the past remain I need to delete the editing content in all windows belonging to the same thread, without too much time lag - I still haven't figured out how much time I have....
